Victoria, BC - Ever been to a Quirke Cultural Stage? Well you can this summer! Quirke Infographica is proud to be a platinum stage sponsor for the 2011 Victoria Dragon Boat Festival. The strategic design firm has donated 300 hours of brand design services for this annual aquatic sporting event.
Beginning August 12, the Quirke Cultural Stage will showcase 15 cultural performances including Tai Chi, Kung Fu, belly dancing and Filipino dancing.
“Giving back to the community is a wonderful way to celebrate and participate in our local culture,” says Matthew Miller, Quirke’s managing director.
“One of the joys of having a communication design agency is that we can re-invest our talent for the public good. It’s especially rewarding knowing the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival Society is in turn raising funds for the BC Cancer Foundation.”
Effective Brand Strategy
According to Quirke’s creative director, George Allen, “an effective brand strategy is about processes, not just things. It’s about asking the right questions so that we can bring a brand to life for specific audiences.”
This year George designed the festival banners and posters, shirts for the Race Marshall and volunteers, a sponsor package and Gala menu, as well as merchandise for sale throughout the weekend.
“The Victoria Dragon Boat Festival has greatly benefited from the time and talent of George Allen during the past three years,” says Mark Grey-Dreaper, Chair of the VDBFS.
“George carefully considers the cultural and marketing messages that our organization wishes to portray in the beautiful artwork he creates. His inspiring works have included our new logo, posters, and program guides. We look forward to continuing to work with George and his new business partner, Matthew Miller, as we tackle the redevelopment of our web site in the coming year.”
About the 17th Annual Victoria Dragon Boat Festival
Presented by the Victoria Dragon Boat Festival Society, the festival is a celebration of cultures, colour and tradition. Visitors are treated to a feast of sights, sounds and festive offerings that appeal to all ages. It is a well coordinated and exciting event that reaches a wide audience of more than 90,000. Admission to the event is free.
